The first thing that comes to my mind by the word chef is passion, to work as a chef one has to be very passionate. To start a good career in food Production or to be a chef you should have a Degree in hospitality or hotel management or a diploma in same. Basically, you should be a hospitality graduate and then you can get into a management trainee program and after the completion of the program you will be a JR. SOUS CHEF but to reach to this level you have to have very good knowledge about food and all the basic and non-basic terms and methods of cooking.
If you start your career as management trainee you will get somewhere around INR 25000 to INR 30000 per month and your salary increases to INR 30000 to INR 40000 after the completion of the management trainee program.

To become a chef you must have a professional culinary training. To start your career as a chef, you must complete your class X to join the Diploma course in food craft. In order to opt for a degree course in culinary arts, one must complete 10+2 in any stream.
