4. A BHMS graduate can expect to make around Rs. 4.2 lacs as their starting salary. A BPT degree could earn you around Rs. 2.25 Lacs per year. Some occupations, such as sports physiotherapy, can pay up to Rs. 4 lacs per year.

The BDS course is better as it allows you to become a dentist, the equivalent of a doctor. The BPT course is also good at its place; here is a brief comparison between the two:

4. Pay: With a BDS degree, you could earn a yearly salary of about Rs. 4.5 lacs. While a BPT degree can earn you an annual salary of approximately Rs. 2.25 Lacs. There are some professions that can pay up to Rs. 4 Lacs, like sports physiotherapy.

Your interest will determine everything. You shouldn't doubt yourself if becoming a doctor in a specific specialty has always been your goal. Otherwise, you could submit an application for admission to a BPT school. It is an expanding profession. Both the private and public sectors have plenty of openings for physiotherapists. Yet again, it is up to you. Let's say your dream job has always been to become an ophthalmologist. So you won't ever be content working as a physiotherapist. BPT is just another step in the right direction, though, if you want a steady career in the medical field. Go for it if you are confident that you will be accepted to MBBS after receiving a drop; otherwise, opt for BPT. Some students decide not to join their allotted BPT college but end up pursuing B.Sc. nursing or another course because they fail to obtain an MBBS the following year. Additionally, taking admission to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy BPT programme at a government college is preferable to dropping out.
