For a candidate in UP, it is always advisable to go little away from home and study in DBS in Dehradun. It is amongst the best management institutes in the country. Check and then decide.

There is nothing wrong in this, but I would personally suggest you to go for Masters in the same field. That will be more useful. MBA is a good option but changing the field completely where your previous experience and degree won't have any role is not worth. Rest is on you.

Colleges do give admission on merit basis, but alongside you have to have written the entrance test, that is mandatory from the government body that regulates the affiliation of management institutes.

At this score you can go for colleges like Dalmia, Chetna, MET and Indira or try for PGDM in good colleges like KJ Somaiya, Welingkar, etc.

To get admission for MBA you need 50% in graduation. You can choose any stream that you are interested in.
