As an alumnus of LPU, I feel proud to answer this question. I was a student in the B.Tech CSE of 2012 batch, the knowledge that I gained while my course duration has helped me a lot in shaping my career. I am currently working as an Application Development Analyst in Accenture, Noida. To begin with, LPU provides a lot of options in engineering only. It is one of the most highlighted courses. The main concern of every student and their parents is the job and LPU fulfills that requirement. According to the placement data of 2019-20 LPU has given jobs to 90% of their students appearing in the interview. Even in 2020-21 placement record was up to 72% considering the lockdown situation and rising cases of corona patients, LPU has delivered its promise. All my batch mates were working in reputed companies in India as well as abroad. If someone is planning their career in engineering, then I would suggest LPU. MBA and MCA courses were conducted by many institutes which required AICTE approval but the Honourable Supreme Court of India declared in a recent judgment around last week of April 2013 that the AICTE can only ACT in an advisory capacity and not a governing body which is the UGC only. To join private sector job
To study further in India or abroad
To be self-employed
If you are joining a UGC-approved university course, even if it is not approved by AICTE you will not suffer on any of the above accounts. So to summarize the above it can be said that although you can get admission to an AICTE approved course, if you are studying at the campus of a university recognized by UGC, then the course is equally valid. So totally UGC or AICTE is compulsory but not both.
