I agree that not everyone can get into these elite B-schools, but it is also equally true that simply on the basis of sheer determination and diligent exam preparation, even academically average students have got admission into these top IIMs. Still, if you end up in an average college (which I hope you won't), then you need to work really hard since there won't be a lot of good opportunities available in such a college, and be in the top 20% of your batch.
