Hi, you don't need any certificate to join hotel's engineering department. As you have degree in engineering, I believe it would be easy for you to start career in hotels. You may probably join their IT department. If you have keen interest in fibre or optics, then in hotels we also have PABX/EPBX department (private automatic branch exchange).
Now, it comes to how to approach the hotel, right? No need to worry, if you are on LinkedIn then just connect with the people of certain hotels, with their human resource team, with their engineering team as well as their information technology team and ask them about any opportunity. You may also try calling hotel and ask for an interview.
