After completing your graduation with BA History, you can go for civil services exams conducted by UPSC. Other than this, you can go for PhD to pursue lecturership which is also a very decent and well-paying job. For this, you can do Masters in History and after that, you can go for UGC NET exam. 

UGC NET is an exam for those who are willing to pursue their career as a lecturer or willing to go for research in their respective fields. For research, the government provides a fellowship of INR 35,000 per month (approx.) for those who qualify this exam with good marks. I think after 12 years of work experience, you yourself are best suited to give advise. I feel you should do some executive MBA course from one of the IIM's.
