1. Have a healthy body, including skin and hair.
2. Research the industry. Find specific types of modeling that match your body type.
3. Create a portfolio of professional-looking photographs.
4. Memorize your body measurements, including hip, waist, and chest size.
5. Attend open calls at legit modeling agencies.
6. Avoid common scams.
7. Research agencies and talk to experienced models for advice.
8. Take photographs for your portfolio.

You should include professional-looking headshots including shots of your close up without a lot of makeup and on a plain background. You should shoot them in natural light (but not direct sunlight) without a lot of distraction in the photos. These are meant for agencies to get a look at you in the raw state. Consider a head shot, a body shot and profile shots. The most important thing to communicate in a portfolio is that you are able to present a range of characters and looks.
