Career

For science group, there are numerous options to pursue. Depending on the interest, one could pursue professional courses or pure science/ mathematics options.
Under professional courses:
1. There are the traditional options - Engineering (B.Tech, BE) for PCM, Medicine (MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS or BUMS).
2. One could go for new age options: Biotechnology or Design. Bachelors in Design has myriad options such as textile design, fashion design, industrial design, etc.
These courses would typically lead to employment options in operational roles in the private sector.
Under pure sciences:
1. NISER: It is a 5 year integrated M.Sc program in basic sciences (Biology, chemistry, mathematics and physics) in National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) - Bhubaneswar and University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy.
2. IISER: Government of India has set up six Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs) at Bhopal, Kolkata, Mohali, Pune, Tirupati and Thiruvananthapuram.
For mathematics enthusiasts, some good courses are:
1. 4 years BS in IIT.
2. IOMA
3. ISI
4. M.Sc from BITS – Pilani.
5. Institute of Actuaries in India.
