Qualifying Exam
Pre-Primary teachers should have passed plus two from any recognized Institution. Candidates who have completed graduation or post graduation from any recognized university can teach in primary schools. If you mean commercial pilot then please remember training in commercial flying can be taken with Flying clubs, the Rashtriya Udan Academy, Private Flying academies.
The training goes through 3 stages of licence.
The licences have to be procured in the following order:
1. Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
2. Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
3. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- After Class XI/XII (with PCM) students can apply for the SPL.
- On passing Class XII(PCM) they may enroll for the next licence -PPL.
- On getting the PPL training begins for CPL.
Details of the Licences:
Student pilot licence can be taken at flying clubs in every State . It is a theory exam.
Eligibility - Age of 16 years minimum and pass in Class X. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee is required.
Selection - Candidates taking the SPL test have to appear in an oral examination on a fixed day every month. Candidates have to enroll a month before the examination. Selected candidates go through a medical test and the Pilot Aptitude Test.
Private pilot licence is a practical training. A total of 60 hours of flying is needed of which 20 hours minimum should be solo and 5 hours cross country.
There is a theory examination also.
Commercial pilot licence requires flying training for 190 hours to complete 250 hours of flying.

Aircraft maintenance engineers or aircraft mechanics readily find jobs in aircraft manufacturing or maintenance firms as well as airports.
Students of AME course can also appear and qualify as AMAeSI (Associate Membership of Aeronautical Society of India), which is considered equivalent to B.E. or B.Tech programme in Aeronautical Engineering by Government of India.
They can find jobs as engineers at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL), Air India, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), BHEL, DRDO, Indian Air Force (IAF), Coast Guard and Airline Industries.
Candidates, who qualify as AMAeSI, are also eligible for M.Tech Admission in IITs through GATE, at Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi, as well as at Madras Institute of Technology.
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is slightly different from Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering.
Aeronautical engineers specialise for the field at the B.Tech level and are involved in designing and manufacturing of aircrafts while Aircraft Maintenance Engineers service the aircraft and keep it in perfect flying condition.
Aircraft Maintenance Engg is a three-year training programme. Candidates who successfully complete the programme are issued license by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The course should only be pursued at the institutes that are approved by DGCA.
AME has two major streams:
1. Mechanical, which covers jet and piston engines, as well as light and heavy aircrafts.
2. Avionics, which cover radio navigation, and electrical and instrument systems.
