I don't think CAT and other bank exams syllabus are same. It may help you to some extent as your English, logical reasoning and basic maths will improve but preparation for bank competitive exams need some separate preparation. It may help you in other MBA entrance exams but not much in bank-related exams.

CAT exam is tough as there are limited seats in IIMS, and there are only few good IIMS like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, etc. Nearly 2 Lacs candidates apply for CAT exam but seriously 50 K students prepare seriously for it. Paper is not tough if you practice problems and do hard work. Focus on English, logical reasoning, etc. Follow study materials and faculty. Don't skip classes as classes are very important. Simple thing is that many people are fighting for limited seats and you have to defeat everyone for getting those seats.

Hi,
If you get admission in IIM before completing the course and getting your degree, then you can cancel the admission here and go to IIM. But, if you get the degree then it would be difficult.

Hello,
Spend that much amount only if the college is worthy in terms of the job opportunities, learning, infrastructure, etc. Else, save money for pursuing MBA from a reputed college since the fees is usually quite high.

8 - 10 months are enough for CAT preparation. There is no right time to start preparation of CAT. You can start anytime if you can save time for CAT preparation apart from usual studies. CAT exam needs practice, so you have to give at least 2-3 hours a day. You can join coaching for CAT preparation. You have to think, is this the right time for me because there is no best time. Every individual starts at different time. You know yourself better, so think when to join. Don't skip classes. Focus is very important during preparation of exam like this.
