Hi Saumya!
There are different entrance exams for MBA such as CAT CET, CMAT, GMAT, NMAT, SNAP, XAT, MAT and ATMA. In my view, its better to attempt a maximum number of questions. Constraining yourself to a number of questions might not be a good idea. Sometimes the paper is easy and people attempt a number of questions. Also, CAT result is relative, so a fixed number of attempt will reduce your chances to score high. So, better try to attempt all the questions in which you are confident.

At least, 50% is required in graduation to get into IIMs. You need to score > 95 percentile in CAT to get a call from IIM-Trichy. Just prepare well for CAT, keep practicing the questions and a determined effort towards CAT preparation will definitely help you to achieve a high score in CAT.
Good Luck.

I think, you have got a very slim chance of admission as the expected cut off may lie around 75-80 percentile.
