Dear aspirant,
At this score, you shall only get tier 2/3 colleges if you are a general category candidate. MBA is a huge investment in terms of time and money. Hence, it is advised that you try again for a better B-School. In my opinion, only the top 30 B-Schools will give you an impetus or a platform that you need as a management graduate, hence you can take the CAT again. Try to go with a better strategy towards it. Note that CAT is a strategy based exam and not a knowledge-based one. So, focus on maximising attempts in your strong areas. Considering previous year's trends, the notification for CAT 2018 would be out by either July end or the first week of August. Cracking CAT without coaching is a bit difficult task. I would suggest you to work dedicatedly if you are planning on studying on your own. Try to study approximately 6 hours a day. Try to solve questions based on the syllabus. Read Hindu newspaper editorials. Also, try to seek guidance from someone who has cracked CAT before. Also, there are a lot of mock tests on the internet, try to attend them with the best of your preparation. Always be focused and dedicated and do your best.
