Depending on the courses, there are different entrance examinations for some courses, while for others, you have to directly apply to those colleges. If you are having subjects like maths or economics in class 12th with your PCB subjects then you can check the eligibility in different universities for economics (Hons) programme.
Many universities offer the admission with these subjects in economics (Hons).

Commerce and science are the two broad categories. In commerce, you can go for arts/ design, business, finance and banking. In science, you have engineering and medical. These are the traditional streams students choose. Some new streams are also in demand nowadays like bio- tech, nanotechnology, agriculture and genetic. Students are also moving towards fashion designing and interior designing. Research-oriented students can go for KVPY and get into institutes like IISC, IISER, etc. Commerce students can also go for CA. The minimum eligibility criteria is you should have a minimum of 45 percent marks in class 12th to apply for WBJEE. Therefore, you are eligible to appear for B.Tech entrance exam. However, you might face trouble at the time of placements as most companies demand a minimum of 60 percent marks throughout for placements.

All the subjects you have appeared for in your higher secondary examination are included in calculating the percentage and the same has to be mentioned in whichever course you opt for and while appearing for the placement interviews.
