No, Chandigarh University does not accept CLAT scores as a direct admission mode for its law programs. Even if you have a CLAT rank, you will still need to appear for CUCET, which is mandatory for all integrated law degrees like BA LLB, BBA LLB, and B.Com LLB. The rationale behind this is maintaining one uniform and transparent selection process for all applicants. CUCET is simple and student-friendly, requiring only 30/100 marks to qualify. Additionally, scholarships worth ₹200 crores are awarded on the basis of performance in CUCET, making it beneficial for students to take the exam. So while CLAT is a great national exam, it is no

No, taking the CLAT examination is not mandatory for admission into BA LLB at Chandigarh University. To be eligible for admission in the university, students need to qualify the Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET), an important test for their admission to the university. With just a little better score in CUCET, students qualify for good scholarships, which greatly reduce fees. CUCET-qualified students are entitled to the scholarship but such students have to follow some rules to retain the grant. One most important rule is the CGPA requirement. Chandigarh University (CU) admissions are generally based on CUCET scores for most of the courses. Students need to appear for the test or submit scores of any other accepted exams as stated by the university. Hence, in some cases, you may get admission in CU without CUCET. The CUCET test is also a scholarship test and if you want to get the scholarship benefits offered by the university based on CUCET scores, then you will have to appear for the exam.

The CUCET is designed to evaluate your aptitude, logical reasoning, legal awareness, and general knowledge, ensuring a fair and merit-based admission process. One of the most significant advantages of this system is the scholarship program. Students can earn scholarships based on their CUCET performance, with awards ranging up to 100%, providing a substantial financial benefit to meritorious candidat

It works as a small court room, and the students learn as to how practically a case moves in the court. Such visits are a part of the practical learning plan introduced into the law curriculum. CU also manages Legal Aid Clinics under the National Legal Services Authority.
