Any graduate who has passed or appearing for the final year 3 years graduation degree examination in any discipline (Science, Commerce, Arts, Engineering or any approved University) is eligible to apply for admission in MCA postgraduate degree course. Candidates must have mathematics as a subject in their 10+2 course or any one year of graduation degree.
You are not eligible for seeking admission in MCA no. You are advised to choose any graduation degree of your choose and appear for MCA entrance examination in final year of graduation degree.

Research scholar cum faculty is one of the best job for a person not much interested in engineering but choices do differ. even the Indian Defence takes in a good lot of PCM students not as an engineer. A statistics expert, data analyst, material scientist, physicist are high end jobs today.

It depends now on your biology degree which you hold. If you want to go by trend, I suggest that you should proceed with nutritional sciences for clinical aspect or microbiology or biochemistry for non-clinical aspect and it shall suffice your desire, but it all depends on your present qualification status.
