Delhi University is approved by University Grants Commission (UGC). DU  is also approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

Admission criteria to Delhi University is both, merit and entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams for a few courses. However, the eligibility criteria to get into PG programmes is graduation in any discipline (this may vary from course to course), along with entrance exams for a few courses.

After submission of the applications, applicants are required to go through the course-based entrance exam.
