Colleges in Kerala

The university reserves certain seats for candidates belonging to specific belonging to SC/ST/SEBC categories. In addition, some of the seats are also there for Sports/Cultural/PD Quota categories. To avail a seat under these categories, aspirants have to submit the relevant documents. The seat bifurcation for the aided colleges is:

• Open quota seats: 50% in the case of aided/aided forward community Colleges and 40% in the case of aided backward Community Colleges
• For SC/ST candidates: 15% for SC and 5% for ST categories
• Community Merit Quota Seats: 10% in the case of aided/aided forward community Colleges and 20% in the case of aided backward Community Colleges

If you meet the course-specific eligibility requirements, then you can fill out the admission form to apply. The admission procedure is carried out through a centralised allotment process (CAP). To apply in offline mode, the application can be collected from the admission office. Moreover, the steps to be followed for online application form filling are:

1. Visit the MGU CAP official website and click on “Account Creation”.
2. Enter basic details to generate a login ID and password.
3. After account creation, an 8-digit application number is provided that the student must retain.
4. Fill out the application form.
5. Payment of the application fee.
6. Upload the digital copies of the important documents.
7. Take a printout of the confirmation page.

Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Kerala offer admission to its BCom/BCom (Hons) course based on merit in the last qualifying exam. Hence, the applicants scores in Class 12 or equivalent exam are considered for selection. After conclusion of application procedure, a merit/selection list can be released by the authorities to announce names of selected students. The admission is done through a centralised allotment process (CAP). 

Before applying for admission, the aspirants should check out the course-specific eligibility criteria. The eligible students can proceed with the application formalities. On selection, the seat can be confirmed by paying the admission fees.

To get a seat in BCom course of Mahatma Gandhi University, a candidate must have the required minimum qualification. Aspirants who have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination with the relevant subjects can apply. In addition, the qualifying exam should have been passed from a recognised board/authority. 

The candidates who haven't passed with required subjects or with other optional subjects can apply if they secured at least 45% aggregate in the qualifying exam.

Moreover, the student must hold the pass certificates (original/copies) at the time of admission or form filling. These documents have to be presented/submitted for verification purposes.
