Direct admission is not offered for MSc at NIT Meghalaya. Admission to MSc is based on the JAM scores followed by CCMN counselling. However, the institute conducts entrance exam to fill the vacant seats after CCMN counselling. Further, before applying for the MSc programme, candidates must qualify for the course-wise eligibility criteria.

NIT Meghalaya application process for MSc is completely online and is done via the IIT JAM exam followed by the CCMN Counselling. The CCMN Counselling 2023 for the three specialisations was concluded after Round 5. The CCMN Last Round (Closing Rank) in Physics stood at 2417, in Mathematics it was 2462, and finally in Chemistry it was 2150.
