Candidates who has a bachelor's degree from an Indian university with a minimum of 50% marks, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university are eligible for the IIM Shillong certificate programme. Further, candidate with a minimum working experience of two years in the development sector, government organisation, NGO, Corporate etc., are prefered.

The North Eastern Hill University MBA placement data and other courses details are yet to be disclosed. However, the overall statistics for the 2024 passing out batch are out. As per the latest report, 22 students were placed in diverse job roles during the 2024 placement process. The University has not released the branch-wise placement data. However, the collective the highest salary has been released. The overall the highest package for 2024 stood at INR 10.80 LPA. Further, the highest package was offered to BTech IT students of the School of Technology, NEHU Shillong. Earlier, the highest package offered to the 2023 batch was INR 4.20 LPA and for 2022, it stood at INR 4.10 LPA.
