CUET PG 2025: Notification (Soon), Application Form, Eligibility, Pattern, Syllabus, Exam Date & Other Details

The Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) or NTA CUET PG, is an all-India level entrance exam that is being introduced for admission into PG programmes in Central and participating Universities. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from North East and from rural and other remote areas and help to establish better connections with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities. 

The exam will be conducted in a computer-based mode for 105 minutes or 1 hour 45 minutes. Earlier, the exam was known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). Prior to 2021, UGC used to conduct the test in a paper-pencil-based mode.

NTA has implemented some major changes in the CUET PG admission process 2024 for this academic cycle like changes in exam pattern, exam duration, registration fee and many other events. CUET PG 2025 registration form is anticipated to be released in the last week of December 2025, tentatively. Candidates can fill out the CUET PG application form 2025 in online mode on the official website. The first step is to register by entering the basic details such as name, address and contact details.

This will generate login credentials. After logging in with the registration credentials, candidates will have to fill up the CUET PG 2025 application form with their personal and academic details, programme and exam city preference and upload documents. After the form is filled, candidates will have to pay the CUET PG registration fee online via debit/credit card, Net Banking, Paytm and UPI. The application fees for CUET PG 2024 was increased from last year.

CUET PG Eligibility Criteria 2025 stipulates the basic requirements like age, educational qualification, nationality etc, which a candidate needs to satisfy in order to appear and get admission through the CUET PG 2025 examination. Following the NTA CUET PG 2025 information brochure there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the bachelor's degree/equivalent examination or appearing in 2025 irrespective of their age, can appear in master’s degree programmes in the Central Universities through CUET PG 2025 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria of the University to which they are desirous of taking admission.

CUET PG 2025 Reservation Criteria

Providing Reservation relaxation to the weaker categories of CUET PG aspirants helps them to avail themselves of the reservation, including comparatively lower application fees, cutoff marks, and course/admission fees. Indian Nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by the Government of India. Candidates must note that the benefit of reservation will be given to them subject to verification of documents. If it is discovered at any stage that a candidate has used a false/fake /incorrect document, or has furnished false, incorrect, or incomplete information, in order to avail the benefit of reservation, then such a candidate shall be excluded from all admission processes. In case such a candidate has already been given admission, the admission shall stand cancelled.

CUET PG 2025 Category-wise Seat Relaxation

The categories and the extent of reservation are as follows: 

Note-

• Candidates with at least 40% impairment irrespective of the type of disability shall be eligible for the benefits of the PwD category.
• Leprosy-cured candidates who are otherwise fit to pursue the courses are also included in this category.
• Candidates with less than 40% disability, but difficulty in writing, as prescribed by the Competent Authority, are also included in this category. 

Documents Required For Claiming CUET PG 2025 Reservation Relaxation

Below is the list of important documents which are required to be present at the time of application process and counselling process for various categories, so that the aspirants can avail the category relaxation at various stages in the CUET PG 2025 Admission process:

For Candidates claiming to the GEN-EWS category

GEN-EWS certificate needs to upload in the Online Application Form of CUET (PG) – 2025 which should be issued on or after dates mentioned in the brochure in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India. If any GEN-EWS candidate fails to submit the GEN-EWS certificate (dates mentioned in the information brochure) at the time of online registration, the candidate needs to upload a declaration [Declaration in Lieu of Gen-EWS Certificate at Annexure-IB of the CUET PG 2025 Brochure] to that effect.

For Candidates claiming to the OBC-NCL category 

OBC-NCL certificate (Annexure-IIA of the information brochure of CUET PG 2025) needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET (PG) – 2025 which should have been issued on or after dates mentioned in the information brochure, in consonance with the latest guidelines of the Government of India.

For Candidates claiming to the SC or ST category 

Caste (for SC) or tribe (for ST) certificate (Annexure III of the CUET PG 2025 Information brochure) needs to be uploaded in the Online Application Form of CUET (PG) – 2025, as per the latest guidelines of the Government of India. 

CUET PG 2025 offers postgraduate degrees to candidates who are appearing in the CUET PG Examination. The postgraduate programmes include MSc, MA, MTech, etc courses in the participating universities. CUET PG 2025 provides postgraduate degrees at central, state, deemed, and private universities across the nation. The number of participating universities in the CUET PG 2023 exam has accelerated in comparison to last year. In 2022, the number of universities that adopted CUET PG was only 66, however, this year it has increased to 197.

CUET PG 2025 Exam Pattern will consist of 75 questions and there would be no General Test with each paper. The candidate can choose General paper as a Subject. CUET PG 2025 Marking Scheme

The marking scheme of the CUET PG 2025 exam is as follows:

i) Each question carries four marks.

ii) For each incorrect response, one mark will be deducted from the total score.

iii) Unanswered/unattempted responses will not be given any marks.

The syllabus for CUET PG 2025 will be released by NTA for each paper after the releasing of application form. The level of the syllabus is that of the undergraduate level. NTA will release the question papers online on its official website, along with the answer keys. Candidates will also be able to download their response sheets. The CUET PG question paper carried 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

CUET PG is an all-India entrance exam that is highly competitive and candidates appearing for the exam need to have a strategy and aim to score well and qualify. Aspirants can go through the following prep strategy methods while preparing for CUET PG 2025.

The online CUET PG mock test 2025 will be on the official exam website wherein students can get an understanding of the navigation system.

By taking the official CUET PG mock test 2025, aspirants will be able to practice the usage of a virtual keyboard and calculator, moving from question to question and among sections. To improve their preparation, students should take the mock tests released by coaching institutes or experts which would have given them questions from actual sections of the expected difficulty level. Along with taking the mock test, it is equally important to analyse it. After a thorough analysis, it is important to implement the pointers of analysis within one’s preparation to succeed in the exam.

CUET PG 2025 Advance City Intimation Slip will be released in a phase-wise manner. The CUET PG 2025 City Intimation Slip contains crucial details such as the examination date, shift, subjects/test papers, and chosen medium of the online application. However, candidates who have opted for subjects not mentioned in the slip and also the CUET PG 2025 examination centre name will not be mentioned.

How to Download CUET PG 2025 Advance City Intimation Slip

Candidates have to follow the steps given below to download the CUET PG 2025 advance city slip:

• Visit the official website of CUET PG 2025.

• Click on the tab indicating Advance City Intimation Slip

• Log in by entering the CUET PG 2025 application number and date of birth in the drop-down menu

• Enter Security Pin

• Click on Submit

• Select the exam paper code

• View the CUET PG 2025 Advance Examination City Slip and note the exam city

Candidates must note that this is not the admit card. But it is rather advanced information about the city where their exam centre will be located so that they can plan accordingly.

NTA, the examination conducting body will be releasing the CUET PG 2025 Admit cards in different phases depending on the schedule of the commencement of the particular exam subject.The candidates are advised to carefully read the Subject-Specific Instructions and other instructions mentioned in the Question paper and abide by the same. There are some candidates who have not received their Admit Card for the above dates will get the same in subsequent phases. 

How to Download CUET PG Admit Card 2025

Candidates had to follow the steps given below to download the CUET PG admit card 2025:

• Visit the official website of CUET PG 2025

• Click on the tab indicating CUET PG 2025 admit card download or Sign In tab

• Enter the CUET PG 2025 application number and date of birth or password along with the Security Pin

• Select the checkboxes with your present health conditions

• Click on Submit

• Check and download the CUET PG 2025 admit card in PDF format.

NTA has added two more CUET PG exam centres last year upon the requests received from candidates for their convenience. Gurugram (Haryana) and Srinagar (Uttarakhand) will now be shown in the CUET PG exam city preference list while filling out the CUET PG application form.

The Test Centres of CUET PG 2025 are expected to be located in 302 cities across India and abroad. As many as 24 international cities have been chosen by NTA. Candidates are needed  to select as many as two test cities while filling out the application form for CUET PG 2024 in preferential order. The application fee will also vary as per the selection of the Indian and international Test Centres of CUET PG 2024. Once the test centre is allotted in the admit card, candidates' requests to change the test city will not be entertained. However, NTA has the right to change the test centre of CUET PG 2024 depending on external factors. NTA will also release an advance city intimation slip for candidates before releasing of the admit card.

CUET PG 2025 examination and its schedule are yet to be released by the exam conducting body. Candidates can check out the previous year's CUET PG exam analysis as this will help the 2025 test takers in getting an idea about the exam difficulty level and pattern of any changes made by the exam officials.

As per the reviews received by the CUET PG test takers, the overall exam difficulty level was found to be moderate. Candidates who appeared in the Electronics and Communication subject found the CUET PG 2024 question paper moderately easy to attend. Questions from the physics domain were asked more than maths and computer applications.

CUET PG 2025 Answer Key is expected to be released by NTA on the second of April, 2024. At first, the exam officials will release the CUET PG 2025 provisional answer key. This answer key is subject to raised objections by the candidates in the stipulated time mentioned by the NTA. The fee to submit an objection against each answer key was INR 200. An expert committee set by the exam conducting body will evaluate the answers/ objections raised by the CUET PG 2025 test takers.

Based on the corrections made in the CUET PG 2025 provisional answer key, NTA will release the CUET PG 2025 final answer key. Candidates calculate the probable score by matching the response sheet and CUET PG final answer key.

CUET PG 2025 Results will be announced in the third week of April 2024, tentatively. The results of CUET PG 2025 will be released online in the form of scorecards. The CUET PG 2025 result carries information such as candidates’ personal details, section-wise and overall scores, and percentiles. The results will be declared in the form of a scorecard which had to be downloaded in PDF format.

The NTA Score of CUET PG 2025 will be valid for admission to the academic year 2025-26 only. Scores and candidate data will be shared with the University where he/she has applied. The Score Card will contain marks awarded in the domain of subject knowledge for each course. The university can draw the merit list based on the total score or only on the score achieved in Part I of the Domain Knowledge Section.

CUET PG 2025 counselling process for various participating institutions will start after the declaration of the results. Candidates who are willing to be admitted to the desired colleges need to fill out the CUET PG 2025 counselling form of the CUET PG 2025 participating university.

CUET PG 2025 Counselling process is a vital process for the candidates whose names are being shortlisted for the master's degree programme for the academic year 2025-2025. The CUET PG 2025 cutoff will be released separately by the participating universities. The cutoff refers to the minimum marks one has to secure in order to qualify for the exam. While NTA will release the qualifying cutoff, participating institutes will release separate cutoffs for each programme offered by them. The CUET PG 2025 Exam Cut Off will depend on factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, number of test-takers, and seats, among others.
