You can do both, distant learning and certificate course. Certificate course will help you in enhancing your skills and a degree through distant learning will help in improving your educational qualification. Now it depends on you how you will manage your till and how you will do it. But, I would suggest you to do certificate course first because that'll help you in learning new skills and enhance your experience.

That's a tad bit difficult to say. It would depend on how your basics are and how well you grasp things. It varies from time to time. There are plenty of mock tests available. Use them and assess you knowledge, then decide how much time you need to spend for preparations.

Try to take part in extra-curricular & co-curricular activities. Try and participate in social causes & built up some experience in your MBA field of interest. All these would hold you in good stead for the IIM Interviews post-CAT. All the best.

Both are very good IIITs but IIIT Bangalore is better. Their placement is very good and also the infrastructure.

I would suggest you learn new languages like Spanish, Russian or French or you can go for any other language of your choice.
