A couple of opportunities where students can meet the employers are Career expos and at workshops and employer presentations. Top New Zealand employers and industry leaders come onto the AUT's campus to meet students, offer advice, and talk about the career opportunities in their industries. Also, employers are on AUT campuses almost every week, participating in leadership speaker series, industry panels, and talks about potential employment with their organization.

International students can work up to 20 hours a week during their studies and full-time during the scheduled holidays and / or during the Christmas and New Year holiday periods.
