Hi,
It is a new branch at NIT Rourkela, as it has a deep scope for development and research, so it would grow more and more in the mean time. Moreover, it is something that you would enjoy studying, if you really have any interest in production and processing of Food and maintaining its quality.
More likely, this branch is all about food making, no it is way broader. We develop food, we develop machines to develop food, we develop machines to keep the food safe. So it has certain degree of mechanical engineering, certain degree of chemical engineering and a major part of Food Science and Engineering.

Yes, you will definitely get admission in Diploma in agriculture with 93.10% in 10th. The fee for it is INR 30,000 per year. The admissions have started.

Congratulation for your good score. The eligibility criteria for getting admission into NIT Rourkela or into any of the NITs is For General candidates to qualify for admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, they should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th. Other than that according to the past records, the JEE rank for Electronics engineering 7000-8000. I can't comment for XIMB college. But I think if you were to ask me for Welingkar BD course, it is a very well-framed course for holistic learning. See the future prospects and then decide for yourself.

So it solely depend on you that if you are interested to know the techniques behind food processing as well as gain knowledge for it then just move on for food processing engineering in NIT Rourkela. It is a new branch started in NIT Rourkela and very soon it has gained tremendous popularity in the mean time. It has hold a good placement record instead of a new branch.
