Well, for getting admission into the college NIT Rourkela, you need to qualify class 12 board exam and the JEE Mains exam. Based on your score and rank you can apply for any branch of your interest in NIT Rourkela. The criteria For candidates to qualify for admissions to NITs/IIITs/GFTIs, they should have secured at least 75% marks in class 12th exam or be in the top 20 percentile in class 12th exam conducted by the respective boards,for General students. For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th.The rank in JEE Mains should be Home State: Rank - 25570 and Other State: Rank - 16412 . NIT Rourkela is ranked 15th by NIRF in 2018. The placement is also good over here. Many companies visit here like ABB , Amazon ,amdocs, Aricent, CapGemini, Cummins, Del,l Ericsson India, Essar Cellular, Future Group, Futures, First Goldman Sachs, Hindustan Unilever, HP ,IBM, Infosys, L T Lafarge, Microsoft, Musigma Patni, Pepsi, Reliance, SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC, Wipro etc visit the campus and recruits many students.

As you scored 53% and you belong to SC background you can get admission in any of the colleges. But it is difficult for getting admission into NITs and IITs. as per new rule , the new eligibility criteria for getting admission in NIT is having minimum 75% in board 12th exam and the merit of this year is expected above 150 marks in JEE; for General students.For SC/ST candidates, the eligibility criteria is 65% marks in class 12th. So its quite difficult to get admission in NIT. But there are many other colleges with similar rankings where you can get admission very easily. So there is lot of opportunity where you can excel in your life. Just study hard and fulfill your dreams. You can get admission in colleges like Birla institute of technology and science, Anna university, Alliance College of Engineering and Design, Alliance University, Anekal, Bangalore, Vellore institute of technology, college of engineering, pune etc

All the NITs are equally good and holds a good placement record as well. NIT Rourkela is good enough for Computer Science and engineering. It has a good infrastructure, and good faculty members as well. It holds a good placement record. The companies like Dell, Microsoft, SAP Labs, Direct, PwC India, Goldman Sachs, HP, NCR Corporation, Oracle Apps, Cloud, Financial Services, Samsung, Ericsson So placement wise its good that's the only thing that matters in the end and academics wise it completely depends on you. The average package is around 7-8 LPA. The highest package is around 11-12 LPA which can also increase more. In NIT Allahabad the average package is around 8 LPA ; NIT Kurukshetra also has average package of 7-8 LPA. NIT Jaipur also has average package of 7-8LPA. The highest package of all is 12 LPA, it increases to more also depending on the company which visit. Hence All the college of NIT is good enough. NIT Rourkela has been ranked as 15th by NIRF in 2018. All the best for future. Thank you
