With an 89 percentile in JEE Main, it is extremely unlikely for you to get Computer Science at top or even mid-tier NITs. Computer Science cut-offs at NITs usually need a percentile of 95+ for General/OBC category, whereas even reservation category closing ranks for CSE are far higher than what an 89 percentile can give (usually below AIR 50,000).
So you have a chance of getting CSE in newer or North-East NITs (like NIT Mizoram, NIT Nagaland) or some other lower-preference branch in other NITs, especially if you are under a Home State quota category or reserved category.

The cut-off for B.Sc. Computer Science at Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth (MGKVP) is generally around 50% in Class 12, with a preference for candidates from the Science stream (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry). While some universities may consider Computer Science as an advantageous subject, it's not always a strict requirement. Admissions are primarily merit-based, relying on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam.
