Bachelor of Computer Application or BCA is s course designed to launch students into IT industry. It develops / inculcates / teaches all the skills that are required to perform the assigned job in an IT company whether small or big. Doing an A level integrated course along with BCA is definitely going to increase opportunities for better understanding and resultant better employment. There are plenty of areas in which the student can work. It could be software professional, systems integrator, systems administrator, software analysts, etc. However, there is another school of thought that recommends doing one course followed by industry experience and then only taking up further specialisation. The only glitch is that the student has to support himself and family during the second course from past earnings. Also, studying after a gap becomes quite tough. This unique management course is designed for students who are interested in pursuing Bachelors in Management followed by an MBA. Also, many institutes these days are offering an Integrated BBA+MBA that can be completed in three years, especially meant for those who are not so keen on spending three years for Bachelors and then another two years doing MBA.
Very few institutes offer this course in India as this a new approach. However, this is a very industry oriented course and aims to develop management skills in an individual from the grass root level. With the completion of this course one would be completely ready to face the challenges of the competitive corporate world.
The duration of the course is usually 5 years (BBA 3 years and MBA 2 years) but, as mentioned many institutes offer a 3 year integrated BBA+MBA.
