Review of Central University of Karnataka, psychology department.
Placements: The placement for psychology department is not good. If you can do internships at a good institution, then you can try to get a job there. The university is not providing that much importance to the placement in our department. It's in your own hands to get proper placement.
Infrastructure: At the university level. The Central University of Karnataka is not that much of a top-level university. But in the case of the psychology department, it's one of the best places to get admission if you are a research enthusiast. The total department is very well. The hostel is only average as well as the food. The medical facilities are also at an average level. At the sports level, you can have a good hope of becoming something in this field.
Faculty: Our psychology department is one of the best in South India compared to other South Indian Central Universities. Also, the syllabus is very good and structured. There is one paper in 2nd semester that is only taught in our university called the APA manual. It is a helpful and unique paper that can give more insights into research. If you are interested in research this will be your best choice. Overall it's the best choice for psychology.

It is a good college if you want to join.
Placements: There are no maximum placements, but education is good. Placements are too low so that's why their NAC is B+. They are not too old college that's why they have no placements in more departments. Psychology department has good placements. So if you are interested in that department you can join.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college and hostel are good. Compared to all colleges it is good. Hostel is too good but there is very hot temperature. Hostel facility is good. Room is big, in one room 6 members are there. Hostel facility is provided for all students.
Faculty: Teachers are good in nature. They are helping other students. They can help with the study. Exams are strictly conducted. If you are studying properly then you can pass for exam because it's not an easy paper you have to study for the exam.
Other: Environment on campus is good. But it's too hot temperature. There is no winter season. Sometimes it is cold but mostly you can feel it.

My Life in CUK: Satisfied to an Extent but at the Same Time Dissatisfied
Placements: Almost 95% are placed somewhere in accordance with their specialization area under the course. The lowest package could be 15,000, and the highest could be 60,000 or more. The three specializations have different recruiters and top institutions. Almost all students were placed in internships in both the 3rd and 4th semesters. Roles include Ph.D. positions, corporate jobs, NGO collaborations, project managers, and more.
Infrastructure: The facilities are average. There are classrooms with projectors, smart learning options, and Wi-Fi connections. However, the library facilities are poor due to short library hours. The library closes at 5:30 PM, and this is when we could issue books, as it remains closed until 9 PM, which is also the hostel timing. Hostel life is poor, with low-quality food and poor accommodation. The hostel timings are rigid. The canteen is a relief from the mess food. The health center is well-equipped with paracetamol and O2 for student issues. Sports and games are given importance, with a ground for various sports and a gym for athletes. There's also a multipurpose hall for indoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified and helpful, with 3 professors, 3 assistant professors, and 2 contractual faculty members. Their teaching qualities are good. The course curriculum is partially relevant, as fieldwork experiences are lacking. The course should prioritize weekly fieldwork, but there is no such practice on campus. The semester exams are easy, with an average pass mark around 25%, though I am not sure.
Other: I am interested in working in social work, especially in an industrial setting. I would like to prioritize fieldwork and internships. There are many events, with 20 departments each conducting a fest every month. An annual cultural and sports competition is held among the 6 schools under which the departments are organized.

Faculty members, they are good teaching and helping students.
Placements: The placement was not very good, and only a few opportunities were provided. Although placements were offered, they were not of high quality. Very few students went for placements. The college needed to provide more and better placement opportunities. However, some students were not interested in the available placements. They have to improve more things.
Infrastructure: The hostel and course were good but not exceptional. The climate in this city was very hot. The course options provided were extensive. Wi-Fi facility was available, and regular classes were conducted. Labs were present, but they lacked sufficient equipment. More resources were needed for the labs, but efforts were being made to improve them.
Faculty: Faculty members were good, and their teaching style was effective, making it easy to understand. They helped students with study guides and conducted exams as per the schedule. Exams were held strictly, with no cheating or other misconduct allowed.
Other: Course feels is too much .

The miserable hostel life in Central University.
Placements: Placements are very limited in our course. This year, only HR specialization students had placements. Few students get placements. There are internships during classes, according to the specialization. The internship is provided for almost one month during two semesters.
Infrastructure: The department infrastructure is good, and they use panels for taking classes. There is one central library on the campus. The hostel infrastructure is very poor, and they provide the worst quality of food. Insects and worms are even found in the food they provide. The rooms also have leakage issues.
Faculty: There are professors and assistant professors with high qualifications who are good at mentoring when needed. They conduct classes with presentations, group discussions, and other interactive methods. However, some are not very good with certain students, and some are more professional.
Other: The course I chose is a professional course with various opportunities both in India and abroad. It is a growing subject day by day. With internships, fieldwork, and other activities, we get good exposure. It provides training such as life skills training. Overall, the campus has limited extracurricular activities, and there are no clubs in the college. There are several department fests and college events. Students from all over India come here, which helps in building connections and improving language skills.
