Private sector is obviously good and you get heavily paid. But you don't have job guarantee, etc. Government sector jobs salary might be less, but people choose it for job surety, facilities, etc. In government jobs you can sometimes do fraud, cheat and earn illegally more than legal.

Both fields are good in their own work areas. For civil engineering, there's a bit problem for freshers because the infrastructure's companies needs experienced people. One have to take experience whatsoever the circumstances are. In electronics, nanoelectronics is on high demand. Electronics is better according to me for a fresher.

Mechanical engineering is basically the engineering related to machines, their working principal, mechanisms, about the different materials used and other designing parts of various machines.
