Mechanical engineering is an engineering discipline that combines engineering physics and mathematics principles with materials Science to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is one of the oldest and the broadest of the engineering disciplines. Role of Mechanical Engineer : Mechanical engineering is considered the mother of all branches of engineering. In this context the roles and responsibilities held by a mechanical engineer are different and depend on their area of specialisation and the industry they are working for. In broad terms, the job profile of mechanical engineers can be classified into the following functional segments:
1. Research and Development (R&D): Engineers whose role is to do research and then plan for new machines and their constituent parts.
2. Design: Professionals whose responsibility is to draft technical drawings, manually or with the aid of computers.
3. Production: Engineers who supervise the manufacturing of mechanical components and machines.
4. Analysis and testing: Engineers who analyse and test different types of machines and their parts to ensure that they function flawlessly.

Job Prospect : Since mechanical engineering is the broadest of all engineering fields, the job prospects on offer for skilled mechanical engineers are aplenty and unending. Mechanical engineers are required to design, test, manufacture, install, operate and maintain a wide array of machines and mechanical systems that are used in countless industries. These professionals can find employment both in the government and private sector undertakings. In the government sector, mechanical engineers can provide their knowledge to various government run projects in the role of technical experts and consultants. They can also work in private engineering companies that provide technical consultancy to both government and corporate firms. So from above Mechanical Engineering is most preferred engineering branch of students for seeking jobs in government. , Public sectors Undertaking and Private sectors.

First of all both the courses are equally good and have their respective scope. As per difference is concerned so the majority of the difference is in syllabus, B.Tech is having a rich variety of concepts while on the other hand B.Sc. Is having less variety of concepts in their course curriculum. Finally if I talk about the current scenario of the market, so many big firms does not care about your degree whether you have done B.Sc. Or B.Tech, what they want that how much tech skills you possess in your self and how you handle their projects that is important for them. So that's you can't say about which course among give you a good salary. Salary or package totally depends on your skill level. I hope you get your answer right.

Admission Criteria of Rajeev Gandhi Government Engineering College Kangra for B.Tech courses :
1. The admission to the first 50% of the seats shall be made on the basis of merit/rank/score obtained in Joint Entrance Examination (Main)-2020 hereinafter referred as JEE (Main)-2020}. The remaining 50% seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test-2020 (hereinafter referred as HPCET2020)
2. In case the seats remain vacant after exhausting the merit of JEE Main 2020 and HPCET-2020, the remaining seats will be filled up on the basis of merit of 10+2 examination conducted by a recognised Board or University. The JEE Main percentile between 70-80 is very good enough for getting admission here.

"IMU-CET is scheduled on 16.08.2020 for admissions to the UG, PG and Research Programmes for the Academic Year 2020-21. The Registration link will be opened on 26.06.2020". So from above you can apply for IMUCET-2020. The eligibility criteria of IMUCET for B.Tech Marine Engineering is given below for an idea. Eligibility criteria : 10+2 or equivalent (PCM - 60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination. )
Note: In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks, it will not apply to English marks. Important : Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply for these programmes. Candidates seeking admissions to Marine Programmes are strongly recommended to have Passport.
