In my opinion, Food Technology would be covering a wider aspect. You will develop competence in areas like Food Process Engineering, Crop Processing Technology, Food Analysis and regulations, Plant and Animal biotechnology.
You need a pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics, Chemistry, English and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology) or equivalent, subject to qualifying JEE Mains or the qualifying entrance test of a university. Your one year of BTech will not be counted
The last qualification counted for admission level should be of a pass degree.
You can check the same from the website of any good university like LPU, SRM, SNN etc. as web sites give all the details.
