MANET integrates "Officer Like Qualities" (OLQ) training into every semester. For B.Tech Marine Engineering students, this is supplemented by final-year subjects like Leadership and Management, ensuring graduates are ready to command and manage engine room teams effectively.

Eyesight is a critical factor for safety at sea. For B.Sc. Nautical Science, you must have 6/6 vision in both eyes without spectacles. For B.Tech Marine Engineering, the limits are slightly more flexible, allowing 6/12 in each eye or 6/9 in one and 6/18 in the other. However, normal color vision is mandatory for all courses; any degree of color blindness will lead to disqualification during the medical exam.

No, you cannot apply. MANET strictly requires candidates to have completed their Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) through a regular, full-time mode of education. The maritime industry demands rigorous physical and academic preparation that distance or correspondence courses cannot provide. Therefore, any qualification obtained through part-time or distance learning is automatically disqualified for both the B.Tech Marine Engineering and B.Sc. Nautical Science programs at the institute.
