As per official sources, students with an MBBS degree from an institute recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI) are eligible for the programme.

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS have to fill out the NEET-UG application form. Based on scores in the national-level exam, candidates are shortlisted for the counselling round, which is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The allotment list is then released by MCC. Candidates whose names are mentioned on the list have to physically report at GIMSR on the prescribed date. Further, the payment of the first-year fee in full to the institute's Account is required.

The official placement report or brochure has not been released. However, some of the students have reviewed the GIMSR placements on the Shiksha students' review page. As per the unofficial sources, 60% of the batch was placed in the recent drives. Furthermore, the highest package offered was INR 5.60 LPA and the lowest package stood at INR 2.40 LPA. In addition to this, the institute recorded 100% internships in recent years.
