Candidates are allotted seat in MSc programme based on IIT JAM scores of the candidates at IIT Dhanbad. In 2025, the closing rank for MSc was 101-822 for General category candidates. The ranks are quite competitive for MSc programme. Aspirants with rank equal or above the IIT JAM cutoff get a seat in MSc programme.
