Hi,
The basic principles you should keep in mind before preparing for GMAT/GRE are:
1. You must create a realistic schedule of daily study. You should at least study for 20-30 minutes every day.
2. Use only official study material and only refer official books published for any of these exams.
3. Learn and practice the problems first only then go to the practice tests, don't directly jump to practice tests.
4. Find someone who is also preparing or have appeared for the same exam as you can take necessary tips from him and review the questions you get wrong.
5. Focus more on vocabulary than passages.
Consistency and a well-planned preparation

You can crack all MBA entrance examinations by self preparations. It is a myth that coaching is required to crack CAT & MAT.

Also, buy books and practice some papers before giving exam as it is worth a lot of money.
All the best!

Hi Aarthi,
Ideally the application process should start at least a year ahead of the intake you desire to enroll into. Which country are you targeting?
