The UPSC ESE (IES) 2026 application deadline for the prelims exam is October 7, 2025. The exam difficulty and the quantity of openings were two of the many considerations that went into determining these cut-off scores. The general category cut-off scores were 10.5, 7.5, and 11.5 for Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language, respectively.Sectional cut-offs were also considered: the minimum qualifying scores for candidates in the General category were established at 10 in Reasoning Ability, 7 in Quantitative Aptitude, and 11.5 in English Language.
