The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission conduct the TNPSC Group 2 exam to recruit candidates for Group 2 and Group 2A posts. The Group 2 posts include interviews in their recruitment process. The candidates can opt from both the services.
The minimum qualifying marks for TNPSC Group 2 interview posts are 40 marks in Paper 1 of the Mains exam and 102 marks in Paper 2 of the Mains examination

Territorial Army is a part of the regular army but it is an ad-hoc force that is recruited from already employed or self-employed candidates. The Territorial Army units get embodied every year for a two months training camp and then it gets disembodied. The personnel goes back to their respective trades in the civil and some of them are bankers, lawyers, agriculturists, etc. Officers who continue to serve beyond the embodiment period every year are retained. The promotion of the officers is based on their record of service and the period of their service.
