No, SSC MTS Paper 1 is conducted online as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The marks of the candidates are then normalised to provide a level playing field to all candidates. SSC MTS paper 1 is the only paper in the exam now (as per the new exam pattern). The marks secured in the SSC MTS paper 1 will be considered for the final merit. PET/PST is qualifying only.
The SSC MTS 2025 Paper 1 was started on February 4, 2026.

Yes, the Commission changed the SSC MTS exam pattern in the latest notification. The Commission also changed the SSC MTS exam syllabus and exam pattern. Now, there will be two stages in the SSC MS exam. SSC MTS Exam and the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) only. The Document Verification (DV) is also outsourced to the department of appointment to expedite the exam process.

The educational qualification required to apply for the SSC MTS 2025 exam is Matriculation only. The candidates who have passed the Class Xth can apply for the exam. The candidates appearing in Class X can also apply for the exam but they need to provide their Class X pass Certificate during the document verification process having date prior to the last date of application. Beside that, the candidates must have attained 18 years of age.
The Commission also added the Havaldar posts in the official SSC MTS notification making it SSC MTS and Havaldar examination. The education qualification required for the Havaldar post is matriculation

SSC MTS 2023 exam will be conducted from September 1 to 29. The Commission released the SSC MTS 2023 notification on June 30. The Commission released the eligibility, age-limit, vacancies, syllabus and exam pattern in the official notification.
SSC MTS 2023 application were started with the release of official notification. The last date to apply for the SSC MTS 2023 exam is July 21. The candidates will be able to submit the application fee till July 22 in online mode and July 24 in offline mode provided the challan must be generated on or before July 21. The qualification required to become a PCS officer is a Graduate degree from any recognised university or institution. The Commission releases the notification every year and states the qualification required to become a PCS officer is a graduate. There is no minimum percentage for the candidates. It implies that the candidates having any percentage in the Graduation degree can apply for the UPPCS exam.
