B.A will be a better option if you want to make your career by clearing CDS exam. But for INA and Air force Academy you must have a degree in Engineering.
For INA: The aspirants must have a degree in Engineering. For Air Force Academy: The aspirants should have passed 12th standard with Physics and Mathematics and having a degree from a recognised university or Bachelors degree in engineering / technology. For engineers, the Indian Railway offers two services. The first is the prestigious group, the Central Engineering Services (IES). The second one is junior engineer (JE) services. There are two positions for electrical engineers to apply for.
(a) First, you can apply for the Indian Engineering Services Exam conducted by UPSC. When completing the application, you must select the "Electrical Engineer" branch. After passing the written exam, you can choose Indian Railways Services for Electrical Engineers from the "preferred services" section of DAF.
You'll be given a job as an electrical engineer for the railways once your interview is successful.
1. You will join the Indian Railways as an Assistant Divisional Electrical Engineer. You can get promoted to the post of general manager in the electrical engineering department.
2. Your starting pay band is Rs. 15600 to 39100 with a grade pay of Rs. 5400.
(b) The second way is to apply for a junior engineer post through the RRB JE exam conducted by RRB. You will have to apply for the Electrical and Allied Engineering group. You will be hired as a junior electrical engineer by the Indian Railways after passing the exam.
1. After getting a permanent posting, your grade pay will be Rs. 4,200, and your pay band will be Rs. 29300 to 34800.
2. You will join as a junior engineer, and the career growth is junior engineer, senior section engineer, divisional engineer (DEN), and finally senior divisional engineer (Sr. DEN).
