Main Exam include 9 descriptive type papers:
1-Any language defined in constitution of India
2-english
3-essay
4-general study
5-general study
6-optional subject-1
7-optional subject-1
8-optional subject-2
9-optional subject-2
In this papers first two is optional paper means its marks are not considered but one have to get minimum marks in that paper also otherwise one will be failed in the main exam. The other seven papers are compulsory and its marks are considered in the final merit list. After the selected candidate will go for an interview. Hi Akash, Yes, you certainly can. You will need to appear for certain exams that you need to clear in order to secure a job. Every public sector job is secured through competitive exams.

HI Dinesh!
The basic preparation for any UPSC examination is NCERT books and as far as CAPF exam is concerned, you will have to give extra focus on syllabus related to social studies. For history and geography, NCERT books of class 9-12 would be sufficient and for polity other than NCERT, go for Indian polity Lakshmi Kant. For economics, NCERT books of 11-12 would be good. Read it and make your own notes and keep revising. For English section, follow Hindu newspaper daily for 2 hrs, since it will also boost your current affairs preparation and vocabulary too.
