To become Income Tax officer or Inspector of Income Tax in CBDT (Central Board of Direct Taxes), you are required to given 'Combined Graduate Level (CGL)' Examination which is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year. The minimum educational qualification required is "Bachelor Degree" from a recognized university, so if you have completed Graduation then you can apply for SSC CGL Recruitment. While applying for SSC CGL Recruitment, you are required to prefer the 'Inspector of Income Tax' post as your first preference. The code for Inspector of Income Tax Post is 'J', so you are required to give J as your first preference while filling SSC CGL Application Form.

Maximum Age Required - 27 years
Grade Classification - Group "C"
SSC CGL Recruitment notification gets released in the month of April/ May in any given year, so I suggest you to start your strong preparation to give this CGL Exam well.
