Unfortunately, joining GEC (Government Engineering Colleges) directly is not possible in most cases. Admission to B.Tech programs in GECs typically requires qualifying in an entrance exam, primarily JEE Main. While the exact process might differ slightly across different GECs and states, the general rule of thumb is:

•  Take the JEE Main exam: This is the main gateway for B.Tech admissions in most GECs. Secure a good rank in JEE Main to increase your chances of admission.
• Apply to your desired GECs: Once you have your JEE Main score, you need to apply to the specific GECs you're interested in within the stipulated timeframe. Each GEC might have its own online application portal or process.
•  Selection process: GECs typically use a combination of factors for selection, including your JEE Main rank, Class 12th marks, and sometimes additional entrance exams conducted by the GEC itself.
•  Merit list and admission: Based on the selection criteria, a merit list is prepared, and students are offered admission to GECs based on their rank in the list.

There are a few exceptions where direct admission might be possible:
