PSG offers a 2-year M.Sc in one specialization applied Mathematics and a 5-year Integrated M.Sc. in four specializations: Data Science, Cyber Security, Software Systems, and Theoretical Computer Science.
Cyber Security is a specialized field in Information Technology (IT), which is regarded as a substream in Computer Science. The Cyber Security courses aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to defend computer operating systems, networks, and data from cyber-attacks.
Cyber Security as a profession is evolving over the years, the reason being the increasing rate of cybercrime. Any industry that transacts online or carries sensitive data is in need of a cyber security professional to safeguard its data from such delinquents. With cyberspace being a common platform that can be accessed by anyone from every corner of the world, the scope of cybersecurity is equally spread across the globe.
For cyber security, candidates must have successfully completed their 10+2 from any recognized board in Mathematics and Physics.
Selection Criteria
The final selection of candidates is done on the basis of an online test conducted by the institute based on HSC Mathematics followed by an interview.
Cutoff: 32-536 for general candidates.

People who have a solid understanding of operating systems, networking, and databases are exempt from the rule. PGP Programs are also available from reputable institutions. As a result, major corporations have begun to recognize the need of hiring such individuals in every industry. As a result, further related courses are available. Udemy, Coursera and other providers like Amity Online and the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) are now offering online Cyber Security Programs as a consequence of the present situation. I'd like to use NIIT's services because of their solid local reputation. They provide up-to-date training that is relevant to today's job economy. Those who finish the most prominent CTCs in the business with flying colors are assured a job upon graduation. Instead of hunting for job, I could devote more time to other pursuits.

Popular courses of the same duration to pursue in cyber security are MCA (Cybersecurity) or M.Sc. (Cybersecurity). To compare both, M.Sc. CS is offered in the sciences stream, whereas MCA (CS)is a postgraduate computer applications programme. MCA offers a greater amount of practical exposure to aspirants than M.Sc. Which offers more scope for research. - Many students opt to go for an MCA after completing their BCA and almost all companies treat MCA degree holders as equivalent to B.Tech (engineering). - If you are going to go into teaching, M.Sc. Is preferable as compared to MCA. There are equal opportunities for both M.Sc. CS and MCA. And after some experience level, it doesn't matter which degree you have with you.
