Dear Vanish, Being alumni of LPU, let me share the eligibility for the admission to hotel management programme at LPU. Eligibility Criteria- You should have just passed with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English or equivalent. Let me share few points about Hotel Management programme at LPU :
Curriculum: High academic standards maintained by offering the curriculum framed in consultation with industry experts. Student exposure: Being a part of a resource-rich University, the students have an advantage of interdisciplinary exposure which is not possible in standalone colleges. University-Hotel: The School also trains its students in the campus hotel named UniHotel of 25 rooms hosting national and international guests where students practice along with the staff. Infrastructure: The School has five modern kitchens with two bakeries. All kitchen and bakery are equipped to enable a student to perform scientifically and to attain their best of learning through most modern gazettes. We have few training restaurants to teach a student about the authentic serving style of food and beverage. We are equipped with one front office laboratory, two housekeeping laboratories, two computer laboratories with 60 computers, and a simulation laboratory for aviation. Placement: 100% placements record with minimum 10% students selected as Management Trainee (Junior Executive level) till date and the placement is with brands like Cox & Kings, Carnival Cruise, JET Airways, Oberoi, Taj, Leela, etc. Package: Six students offered the package of Rs 8 Lacs by Carnival Cruise. Our family has religious beliefs and are purely vegetarian. My kid wants to be a chef, is there any scope for a person who doesn't want to even cook non vegetarian food?
So, writing for benefit of those with similar concerns:
I agree that maximum hotels offer a range of both vegetarian & non vegetarian dishes as all cuisine have varieties in both. However the best part of this industry is that there are many opportunities that allow you to work as per your comfort zone.
Keeping in mind the kitchen, there are many different kinds of chefs, you may opt for the bakery & confectionery, salads or even garnish sections as these do not involve non veg. Otherwise in case you are willing to cook non veg food,it is not so necessary for vegetarian students to taste what they have made. It will be suffice if they are willing to cook non-vegetarian dishes.

Generally No. Most of the colleges required B.Sc. In Hotel Management for the admission in asked course. However few private Universities like Amity Noida, LPU Jalandhar and Chandigarh University can be good options for pursuing MBA (Hospitality Management) and MBA Tourism And Hospitality Management and M.Sc. Hotel Management courses. The eligibility criteria of Amity is given below
Eligibility criteria of Amity University Noida for MBA (Hospitality Management) :
1. For NS (Non Sponsored) category - min. 50% marks in Graduation with min score of MAT 500/GMAT - 500 / CMAT 150 or percentile in CAT/XAT - 75 / NMAT 60 or Amity Written Test on the day of Interview.
