The hostel at the Oriental School of Hotel Management (OSHM) in Lakkidi, Wayanad is good. OSHM also has a training kitchen and restaurant where students can gain practical experience. The quality of food at hostel mess is also really good. They have a vareity of dishes in their menu.

NIMAS college is a good option for hotel management. It offers average package around 3 - 4.5 LPA. The college is known for it's strong industry connections with well established five star hotels. Internships takes place in reputed hotels like Taj, ITC, Oberoi etc. It's a budget friendly college with high benefits.

Worldwide it is listed at 11261 out of 14131 and in Asia it is placed 4622 out of 5830. In India it stands at 738 of 876 universities while in Odisha it stands at 23 of 25 universities. Currently, the university has its official educational programme for Bachelors of Hotel Management (BHM) programme ideal for students who desire to practice within the hotel sector upon the completion of the course in teaching hotel functions, food, and beverages services, including housekeeping.

The placements of the candidates in M.A. in Hotel Management at Utkal University of Culture have been good. For the year 2023, the university was able to secure a student placement rate of 98.74%, and a the highest package of INR 750000/- per annum was offered. The median salary package provided from the company for the fresher was between INR 2-4 Lacs per annum. Leading recruiters of the campus were Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Reliance Retail, Amul, Godrej Agrovet and Bandhan Bank. Although it is difficult to get figures related to the data for M.A. in Hotel Management, yet placement scenario seems promising.

While not always mandatory, a degree in hospitality and tourism management is beneficial, but also it depends on the role and the size of the business you are going to apply the job for.
Especially for entry-level roles like customer service, front desk, or food and beverage service. However, a degree can be very beneficial for advanced-level roles and positions.
