The eligibility criteria for Hotel Management colleges in Lucknow are different at UG and PG levels.

• UG Eligibility: Must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board with passing marks to be eligible for the UG course. Many colleges also list additional eligibility criteria stating that students must have cleared English as a core subject of study if they want to pursue a hotel/ hospitality management course.
• PG Eligibility: Should have passed graduation to pursue a PG course. Aspirants who possess a graduation degree in hotel/ hospitality management are preferred. Apart from this, some colleges also list eligibility criteria that list that candidates should secure a minimum 55% aggregate in their graduation to be eligible to secure admission in PG-level courses offered by them in the field of hospitality management.

No, admission to central and state government Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs) is strictly based on qualifying the NCHMCT JEE exam. Candidates must meet the required cutoff and participate in the centralized counselling process conducted by the National Council for Hotel Management. Without qualifying the exam, you cannot secure a seat in government IHMs. However, some private hotel management colleges offer admissions through direct entry or institute-level exams. If you're unable to qualify NCHMCT JEE, you can explore Diploma or certificate programs in hospitality or prepare to reappear for the exam next year to improve your chances.

The NCHMCT JEE merit list is an All India ranking of candidates based on their scores in the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination. Prepared by the National Testing Agency (NTA), it determines eligibility for admission into B.Sc. programs in Hospitality and Hotel Administration at participating Institutes of Hotel Management (IHMs). In cases where candidates have identical scores, tie-breaking criteria are applied:

• Higher marks in the English section.
• If still tied, higher marks in the Service Aptitude section.
• If a tie persists, the older candidate is ranked higher.

To determine if you're qualified to participate in the NCHMCT JEE 2025 counselling, consider the following criteria:

1. Educational Qualification: You must have passed the 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination or its equivalent from a recognised board, with English as one of the subjects. Candidates appearing for the 10+2 examination in 2025 are also eligible on a provisional basis, but they must provide proof of passing at the time of counselling. 

2. Age Limit: For General and OBC categories, the upper age limit is 25 years as of July 1, 2025 (i.e., candidates born on or after July 1, 2000). For SC/ST candidates, the upper age limit is 28 years as of July 1, 2025 (i.e., candidates born on or after July 1, 1997). 
3. Physical Fitness: All qualified candidates must submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner at the time of admission. 

4. NCHMCT JEE 2025 Result: You must have appeared for the NCHMCT JEE 2025 exam and obtained a valid score. The counselling process is based on the All India Rank (AIR) obtained in the NCHMCT JEE 2025.

5. Registration for Counselling: Eligible candidates must register for the counselling process on the official NCHMCT JEE counselling portal within the specified dates.
