Hi Arpit,
Yes, it is quite possible to pursue a course in HM without a HM education background.
The eligibility depends on the type of course that you wish to pursue , the details of some courses is stated below:
Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognized board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate & PG programs may also require you to appear in entrance exams such as NCHMCT,AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT etc.

There will. e aspects which may occur:
If you do HM from abroad, you might not able to get job in India, as Indian hotel have different working conditions, you may be difficult to get job in Indian hotels. In case you are chef you may get but in other departments it would be difficult.
If you will do from India there are lots of drawbacks as you might have heard about the longer shifts, less salary, stressful job etc. If you become chef then you can get job abroad quite easier.
I'd say better to do from abroad as 80% of students here in my college get depressed and 20% have left. This happens in most of the college.
