While the chance of a beginner cracking the UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE) in the first attempt is low, with estimates suggesting around 10% of candidates succeeding, it is not impossible and can be increased with a strategic approach. Success on the first attempt requires deep syllabus understanding, effective time management, consistent hard work, rigorous practice through mock tests, and excellent analytical and writing skills.
