The scores of IBPS SO are calculated in the following manner:
- Each correct answer is awarded one mark
- 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer
- Check the number of correct answers
- Multiply the number of incorrect answers by 0.25 to find the total negative marks
- Subtract the total negative marks from the total marks obtained for correct answers in each section
- Add up the sectional scores to get the overall score for the exam

Yes, you can apply for any bank vacancy without passing the IBPS exam. IBPS is only required for PSU Banks. All other private banks hire individually. Thus, you still have a lot of banks to apply to without the IBPS exam.
