IBPS SO 2025: The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released IBPS SO admit card for prelims exam. The prelims exam will be conducted on August 30, 2025. 

The window to fill IBPS SO application process closed on July 28, 2025. IBPS SO notification was released to fill up a total of 1007 vacancies. IBPS SO application form 2025 was released on July 1. Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts IBPS SO exam to recruit Specialist Officers in various public sector banks. IBPS SO Eligibility 2025

Candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility conditions in terms of nationality, age, and educational qualification to be eligible for the IBPS SO exam:

Nationality/Citizenship

Candidates who are citizens of India/subjects of Nepal/ Bhutan/Tibetan Refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, are eligible for the exam. Besides, those who are Indian by origin and migrated from Pakistan/ Burma/ Sri Lanka/ Kenya/ Uganda/ the United Republic of Tanzania/ Zambia/ Malawi/ Zaire/ Ethiopia/ Vietnam to India with the intention of permanently settling here can also appear for the exam.

IBPS SO Age Limit

The aspirants must be between 20 and 30 years.

IBPS SO Educational Qualification

As the recruitment is carried out for various posts, the educational qualification varies as per the posts. Candidates can find the educational qualification prescribed for different posts in the table below.

Graduation with two-years full-time PG degree or diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, HR, HRD, Social Work or Labour Law

IBPS SO Exam Pattern

IBPS SO exam pattern is divided into prelims exam, mains exam, and interview. The total marks allotted to the prelims exam are 150 and the mains exam carries a total of 60 marks. The total marks allotted for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying mark in the interview is 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates). All those candidates who meet the overall and sectional cutoffs in the mains exam are called for a personal interview. The total marks allotted for the interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40 per cent (35 per cent for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates).

IBPS SO application form is released online on the official website. The application process comprises several steps such as registration, uploading photograph and signature, filling detailed application form, uploading handwritten declaration and left thumb impression, paying the application fee, and submitting the application form. 

Issue of Admit Card

IBPS SO admit card is released online separately for prelims, mains, and interview. To download the admit cards for different stages, candidates need to enter the registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

Appearing in the Exam

IBPS SO exam is conducted in different stages-prelims, mains and interview. To get selected for the various posts of Specialist Officers, candidates need to clear all the stages. However, the final selection is done on the basis of mains exam and interview.

Declaration of Result

IBPS SO result is declared online for different exam stages. The scorecard is released a few days after the declaration of the result. To download the result, candidates need to enter the registration number or roll number and date of birth or password.

Final Selection

The final merit list for the appointment is prepared based on the marks of the mains exam and interview. The weightage given to the online mains exam and interview is 80:20.

IBPS SO Exam Centres

IBPS SO exam is conducted at multiple centres in different cities spread throughout the country. IBPS SO exam is conducted at more than 100 test cities. Candidates are required to select one city each for prelims and mains exams. The details regarding IBPS SO exam centres are mentioned on the admit card. IBPS also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any IBPS SO centre other than the one he/she has opted for.
